I have a Brother 2280DW workhorse of a printer. I love the wireless/scanning/duplexing features, but am wondering if this problem is fixable.

The paper starts to feed and then never quite gets grabbed coming out of the paper tray. It doesn't jam, it just doesn't feed. When I feed manually, the printer works fine, but that is a royal pain!

I have tried cleaning all the rollers underneath - in back and front.

Other suggestions?

hard drive: Recommendations for where to shred a hard drive?

I have a small stack of dead hard drives I'd like to have shredded. I've found a few places online that provide that service, but the best quote I got was $10 a drive. I'm curious if anyone has any recommendation of anyone who provides the same service for a cheaper price.

(And I know I could just drill some holes in the drives, which is what I may end up doing, but I like the idea of total information destruction that shredding provides and I like the idea that they'll recycle the remains properly afterwards.)

I am not sure what the root cause is, but the suspect is the two springs. I am not able to find a good replacement, since springs come in all sizes. The one I tried had too much tensile strength: it made the opening and closing too clunky.

I have purchased parts from the same printer. To be updated.
