My Problem

Iphone 3GS used to die abruptly quite often. After researching for a while, figured that it could be due to the battery. Also had an issue with the phone's camera, that it was not being recognized.

So, bought new battery & camera from Ifixit, replaced them as per the guide available at their website, which was fairly easy.

My Iphone is back to life and working well so far

My Fix

followed the guide available to replace the faulty battery and camera. it was a flawless execution with the precision instruction set available.

My Advice

no specific advise as such. If you have a good stable hands, ready instructions carefully and follow them, the job should be done in 20min

My Problem

When my dad upgraded the ios on his iPhone 3GS, the camera stopped working, so he bought an iPhone 4 and gave me the 3GS. I bought the replacement camera from iFixIt because i'd purchased a replacement battery from them earlier and was super impressed with the speed of shipping and overall high quality of the experience on all fronts.

Simple to follow instructions, had the tools, easy.

Don't be scared of taking your iPhone apart and putting it back together, it still works!

Camera didn't work due to cracked power/data strip.

My Advice

My camera broke from pulling the motherboard previously. Take camera out with the motherboard to avoid damage. Install the data cable on the motherbpard score you try to attach the camera to the case. Be careful it's a tight fit.
