Laptop and programs are unresponsive
When you run programs on the laptop, the programs will not load properly or stops responding.
High RAM usage
Your laptop has a limited amount of RAM for programs to use. To reduce RAM usage, close any unnecessary programs running in the background or restart the computer. Follow this guide if you need help.
Not enough RAM
If your Lenovo U410 constantly displays low RAM or programs are unresponsive by not working when you click on icons after restarting your laptop, you need to replace your RAM to increase its capacity to run smoothly. Follow this guide to replace your RAM.
Distorted or black screen
Your Lenovo IdeaPad U410 turns on, but the screen is not functioning.
Faulty Screen
A faulty screen can be caused by your LCD screen. To test the LCD, hook up your laptop to an external monitor such as a television by using an HDMI cable. If you see the same image displayed on your laptop, then the problem is with the LCD of your screen. For instructions on how to replace the LCD, refer to this guide.
Lenovo IdeaPad U410 will not charge
Your Lenovo will not charge when it's plugged in.
Faulty adapter
Plug in your current adapter, if it is not charging, buy a new adapter and plug it in to a functioning outlet. If it is still not charging the problem is likely with the computer itself.
Faulty AC adapter
It is likely that your AC adapter(plug in port) is not detecting an adapter being attached. See this guide on how to replace AC adapter on the laptop.
Defective battery
Remove your power adapter and hold the power button for 10 seconds, after this plug it back in and power your computer on. If the charging light is coming on, but the computer is still not responsive it is your battery. See this guide on how to remove the battery, purchase a new one and replace it.
Motherboard update
If your computer is still completely unresponsive, after the replacement of the battery then your motherboard may need to be updated. See this guide for how to update your motherboard.

Hard drive malfunction
The hard drive in your computer is one of the most important elements to your computer so if that stops working than the computer will not boot up properly. If your computer boots up but goes to a blue screen, there is a malfunction in your hard drive. Broken hard drive
If you boot up your computer and no blue screen shows up than one of your problems could be that the hard drive is broken. If so, then you will need to buy a new hard drive. Cluttered hard drive
Free up extra space on your hard drive if its full by deleting old personal files or programs that you do not use or defragment your hard drive to speed up your device by following this guide.
Slow hard drive
