== Screen Problems ==

''Screen is damaged or has an abnormal display.''

=== Runny or Blotchy Colors ===

If runny or blotchy colors remain on the screen at all times, even when you leave the console off, then you will have to replace the damaged LCD screen.

=== Lines On The Screen ===

If the device was dropped, the top or bottom screen may appear to have lines. If the lines fade away when you turn off the console, then the screens are most likely in still working condition. Otherwise you will have to replace the damaged screen.

=== Scratches On The Screen ===

If the screens appear to have scratches, you may want to replace the screen covers if the scratches hurt your gameplay.

== Battery Problems ==

''Your device's battery is not providing power or charging''

=== Battery Won't Charge/Device Won't Turn On ===

If the battery won't charge, there may be a problem with the rechargeable battery. If this is the case, you need to replace the [guide|1378|battery].

=== Spilled Liquid On The Device ===

If your device has a very short battery life after liquid was spilled on it, then you'll need to replace the [guide|1378|battery].  Depending on the extent of the damage, other repairs may be necessary.

=== Battery Does Not Fit Into Compartment ===

If the battery does not fit but is definitely the correct size (USG-003) for the device, then the battery housing may be damaged. In this is the case, you will need to replace the damaged [guide|1399|plastic case].

=== Shortened Battery Life ===

If the battery life gradually shortens over many weeks/months, the rechargeable battery may need to be [guide|1378|replaced].

== Plastic Case and Hinge Problems ==

''A broken case is adversely affecting function of the device.''

=== Dropped The Device ===

If the plastic case or hinge cracked and is causing some games to not function properly, then you will need to replace the entire [guide|1399|plastic case].

== Operational Problems ==

''The device is turning on, but not working as it should.''

=== Game Freezes A Lot ===

If the game often locks up or freezes, then there may be a problem with the motherboard and you may need to [guide|1377|replace] it. However, before doing so, you should confirm that the problem is not caused by something else. Occasional freezing is normal for the device.

=== Buttons Don't Work ===

If the buttons are non-responsive during gameplay on several different games, there may be 2 causes:

* The buttons may be dirty.  To clean the buttons, please refer to our [guide|1377|motherboard] repair guide, which will walk through on how to reach the buttons.

* If the buttons are clean, there may be a problem with the system. If this is the case, you may need to replace the [guide|1377|motherboard].
