Dead Screen
You turn on your laptop but your screen will not respond or is black.
Laptop battery is dead
Check the battery connection port and the connection to the outlet. The laptop battery charging port is round and located on the back-right side of the laptop behind the screen. Clear any possible debris from the charging port. Make sure the connection is secure. Plug the outlet end of the charging cord to the wall securely. Make sure that there is power to the wall outlet by checking the breakers or by testing a different device using that outlet.
Laptop dimness setting
If your laptop boots to a black or dim screen you need to check the dimness settings. When the laptop is turned on press FN+F7 keys to turn on the display or press FN+F6 to adjust the brightness of the LCD screen.
LCD lamp failure
A screen that gets gradually dimmer, flickers, or a display that flashes before going dark are all signs of an LCD with a failing backlight. LCD screens with this problem require a third-party backlight.
Locate the square USB 2.0 port labeled 1394 on the right side of the laptop. Connect the square end of the USB 2.0 cord to the laptops 1394 port. Connect the rectangle USB end of the cord to the third-party monitors USB port. Press the FN+F8 keys to toggle between the laptop LCD display and the external monitor.
Hard Drive Failure
Computer fails to boot and does not load the operating system.
Device reboot required
The solution to minimal hard drive issues is to perform a reboot of the device. Power on the ASUS laptop. When the ASUS logo screen appears, press F9 key to access the reboot menu. Press "Enter" when Windows Boot Manager appears. Choose your language from the options and click "Next."
Unused or corrupted programs
If the laptop crashes during memory intensive tasks you may need to delete unused programs. Open the laptop setting menu. Click System on the Settings menu and select Apps & features from the left panel. Select the program or app you wish to uninstall.
File system errors
If the laptop has a bug that is causing hard drive problems with the laptop, run a check disk. Check disk is a system tool on Windows that verifies the file system integrity of a volume and fixes logical file system errors. Keyboard is Unresponsive
Your keyboard does not work.
Laptop may need to be restarted
If the keyboard does not work at all, first try shutting down and restarting the computer.
Responses to key presses is slow
If your keyboard works, but the response from your presses are slower than normal, this may be caused by having the Filter Keys function on. Refer to this guide: https://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1011... for instruction on how to turn this function off.
Pressing a key types multiple characters
Multiple characters appearing when you press a single key may be because of a short key repeat delay. Follow the steps on this guide to change this delay: https://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1011...
Faulty Battery
Operating system gives a non-accurate reading of battery.
Battery is not properly inserted
Power off the laptop and flip the laptop upside down. Locate the two switches that lock the battery. Push and hold switches into the "unlocked" position, then gently slide the battery outward. Insert battery back into the device properly.
Device is overheating
Since this laptop has a lithium ion based battery, its battery life can be increased by maintaining its temperature. When your laptop reaches high temperatures, it harms the battery. One thing you can do to avoid this is by lowering the laptop’s brightness or turning off apps that are not in use. Another thing you can do is purchase a laptop cooling pad which has internal fans that provide a cooling effect.
Recalibration is needed
Your laptop's battery may require calibration if its operating system gives you a non accurate reading of the actual capacity of its battery. Here are a few steps you can follow in order to fix this issue: Charge your laptop’s battery to its maximum percentage and allow it to cool for 2 hours. Disconnect the charging cable from the laptop and allow the battery to die. You can either let the battery run down all the way until the laptop dies or until it goes into hibernation mode. Allow the laptop to remain off for 4 hours. Power on the laptop and allow it to charge to 100%.
Camera does not work
When the laptop camera is turned on and it does not light up.
Hardware issue

Antivirus conflict
Antivirus software or an outdated webcam driver can block the laptop camera from working properly.
Check your antivirus software and look for settings related to blocking access or permission to use your webcam. You can also visit your antivirus software company’s website for guidance.
User’s profile setting
You can also create a new user account and check whether your laptop camera works under the new profile. Change the settings to administrator privileges and check the status of your laptop camera.
Camera driver’s out of date
This problem is likely to be caused by faulty drivers or driver conflicts. Go to Device Manager and try to update or reinstall the driver. First, uninstall the camera driver. Second, reboot the laptop. The driver will automatically install on Start. Finally, launch the laptop camera again.
