Maybe one of these tips will work for ya: -Take the RAM out and try re-seating it. -Replace the RAM with working RAM -Reset PRAM -Try booting up with the power cord plugged in and battery installed -Try booting up with power cord unplugged and just battery installed -Try booting up with power cord plugged in and battery taken out -Get a firewire cord and plug your MacPro into the dead Macbook and boot the Macbook in Target disk mode. Then on your MacPro go into Disk Utilities and repair disk permissions and repair disk on the Macbook hard drive. Then power down both computers and power up the Macbook and see if that works. -Replace the hard drive with a good working hard drive and operating system.

There's a free program you can download online called Carbon Copy Cloner that will make an exact copy of your original hard drive's software and files or you can pay for a program called Super Duper that does the same thing. Make sure your Mac is plugged into external outlet power, because you don't want it turning off while formatting or installing software on the hard drive. Take your new 500 GB HD and install it into an external HD. Then use the "Disk Utility" program in your Mac to format the 500 GB HD in "Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. Then run Carbon Copy Cloner or Super Duper. The source drive is the one inside your Mac and the target drive is the 500 GB HD. Hit the start button and type in your password if you have one. The process will take a little while to replicate so go have some tea and crumpets. When the process is finished you can take the hard drive out of your Mac and replace it with the new 500 GB hard drive and power up the Mac. These MacPros are made in China and don't like Russian vodka. You would have been ok if you spilled rice wine on it. There are little white dots strategically placed around the keyboard, RAM ports, and logic board area. If the white dots turn pink that means they have triggered and Apple will know you liquid damaged the unit. If you can remove all signs of liquid damage, then just take it into the Apple store and have them mess with it under warranty. Worst they can say is no. There are companies on e-bay ranging from $150-$400 that will repair Russian Vodka spills on MacPros. Purchasing a new or working used logic board is currently cost prohibitive, so best bet is to get the logic board repaired.

You probably messed up your power board running off the 60W. This model requires the 85W.

When you take the lower case off. You will find that the ear phone jack is attached to the logic board. You may have to remove the logic board to get enough clearance to access the jack. Did you try going to Harbor Freight Tools and buying a set of dental picks? Insert some dental picks in the jack and slowly try to pull the stuck jack out. Also try getting some pointed nose tweezers to grab and pull the plug out. Also try to get one of those super strong magnets from a speaker and move it foward and back to see if it will pull the metal plug out for ya.

Before you replace the mobo try just buying another mag safe charge board. Much cheaper alternative and easier to install.

LCD panel might have been shipped with protective plastic covering the front. Try peeling off the plastic. Also, go into System Prefs and click on display and adjust the color. Finally, check for loose video cables.

Keyboard and trackpad have different connector ribbons. Open the thing up and look for loose keyboard connection ribbon and trackpad ribbon. Re-insert firmly and try power on again to see if that don't fix it.

You must always format a new hard drive for Mac. Power on and insert your Snow Leopard disc, restart and press option key, select the Snow Leopard disc and press enter, go into disk utilities and format the new hard drive as Mac OS Extended Journaled, and name it Macintosh HD or whatever you want. Then select security options and zero out data. Then select the erase button to format the new hard drive. This takes a while depending on hard drive size, so go read you a book or go grocery shopping. Sometimes this computer acts stupid when trying to install software, so remove the RAM chip and re-insert firmly and try again. If this don't work, then remove the RAM chip again and try install without the RAM chip or insert a different RAM chip with larger memory. Alternatively, you can use another working computer and hook the two up via firewire and install using target disk mode. The sleep/wake magnet probably fell out when they replaced your screen. Take it back to Apple and have them look into it. Have Apple replace your optical drive if it's still within warranty. If not, then buy a used one and replace it yourself. Go into system preferences and select energy saver and adjust your settings to see if your laptop will go to sleep. Also, turn off your application called Caffeine, because that program inhibits sleep mode.
