MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Late 2008 and Early 2009 Teardown Apr 19 @ 7:33 AM
Help!! How does one get from Step 24 to Step 25 and separate the display from the bottom case? Seems to be a lot of info missing here.

Help! Can't put hinge back together on MacBook Pro Unibody 15 Apr 19 @ 7:32 AM
I've followed the iFixit First Look disassembly guide as far as Step 24 (removing the six screws holding the hinges). But then Step 25 skips to showing the top and bottom of the MacBook apart.
So I tried to gently open the MacBook Pro to see if the top and bottom would now come apart.
No such luck, so I gently closed it again. But now the two hinges are in a different position (pointed upwards), so I also can't put the screws back again!
I don't want to mess up anything in this MacBook Pro, can someone who has fully disassembled this fill in the gap for me between step 24 and 25 and tell me how to put the hinge back together properly?
THANKS!!

Thanks, you gave me the courage to fiddle with it more. I didn't dare continue the disassembly, but got it back together by opening the case halfway, so that the hinges lined up again, put in the screws, then closed it.
Would really like to see this part of the disassembly guide (steps 24-25) completed so that it shows the full set of steps. There were two little pieces on top of the hinges with screws also that had to come off, that are not shown in the disassembly at all. And the cable leading to the display is in the way of everything, with no explanation of how to lift it away safely.
Finally, I also didn't remove the motherboard, since the various little cable connectors have different locking mechanisms and it's hard to know where to spudge safely. Would appreciate more explanation there too.

There are also two small hinge parts on top of these six screws that need to be taken off. Big step missing here. Disassembling the hinges and separating the display from lower case is complicated procedure that needs more pictures/directions.
