Retired professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Always been a tech buff. First computer in 1976 was a self-wire-wrapped Intel 8080 with 4 KBytes ram (right - four thousand), a self written keyboard monitor operating system, a home-built analog audio interface for storage to analog cassette, a home-built hand operated paper tape reader (that was the way SW was distributed at the time), and a dumb terminal attached to an RS 232 port.
I continue to develop SW and websites, but I limit my hardware tinkering to upgrading and repairing my Macs with iFixit's help.
