What is the actual TORX size of the 5-point screw?

  • Hine Design Inc. Automated Wafer Handling Unit Teardown

    Quote from Aurimas:

What the !%^* is this thing and what it does?

It is exactly what the title says: it handles silicon wafers (the giant circular wafers full of processors and such prior to packaging—hence the reference to the iPad processor exhibition). Those things should not be transported by hand and are usually moved with a machine such as this.

  • MacBook Unibody Model A1342 Teardown

"Also gone is an IR port for a remote. As far as we know, that makes the MacBook the only currently shipping Apple laptop that doesn't support a remote."

And the Mac Pro doesn't support a remote either. What a contrast.

  • MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Teardown

    Quote from mooner:

Can you please note if this optical drive is 9mm or 11mm high? Wondering if it is possible to replace with a slot-loading Panasonic Blu-Ray drive...

    It's a Panasonic Super Slim which means it's 9.5mm

Therefore the Blu-ray drive doesn't fit.
