until recently i could do a hard restart, to wake up the computer...
First it started by the screen not getting back lit... wasn't a big issue.
Then yesterday, I couldn't wake it up after closing the lid. I had to do a hard reboot, and all was ok, but the problem grew, and after 2-3 times of having to wake it up by restart, it was stuck in sleep mode! dim sleep light, no pulsing etc.
I did lot of research on this issue and found that many people seem to have this issue.
there was a fix that worked for me. hook it up to another mac by firewire - start up in target mode, find the sleepimage file and delete it. This worked great and i got my machine up and running again like normal - for a while - I closed the screen and went to work, got to work and it was stuck in sleep again.
tried the same fix, but now the machine is locked in sleep mode, and i can't even get it up in target mode, safe mode or startup from disk....
I am lost!! but you might find solutions on the mac forums with this sleep/wake problem...
anyone know of a solution? apparently it has to do with the caching of your system at sleep or some permissions....
