Answer to: How do I fix or replace a broken ring/silent switch?
Replacing the hardware would be great, but by God there's a lot of work to get to that device. I opted for the lazy way out and used software to work around it. Not a perfect solution, but it has been working for me: http://bluescreensolutions.blogspot.com/...-broken-mute-switch-bypass-silent.html -

Answer to: iPhone microphone off, not on speaker?
It could be the same bug I had. There was nothing that I remember happening to my phone and it suddenly stopped working, but I read about a bug where the iPod feature can cause the microphone to stop working. I could use the hands-free just fine, but without it nobody could hear me: http://bluescreensolutions.blogspot.com/...-nobody-can-hear-me.html -
