Answer to: Ram upgrade not working in one slot
If you really have a LATE 2007 model, then it can take up to 6 GB. The only thing is that it has to be memory modules that have the 667 MHz in SPD. At least one of them. Not sure if it has to be in the first slot. I'm runing 5 GB currently, 4GB 800MHz module and 1 GB 667 MHz module. -

Apple replaces topcases for free on these macbooks. I just replaced mine, almost 4 years after purchase.
