    Any news about the possible upgrade? I have also been very interested about enabling the 3rd port ever since I tried to install additional SSD drive only to find the port missing. Picutre of my Late 2009 27" iMac and the empty place for the third SATA port:

    "The 2009 27-inch iMacs do NOT have the third SATA port with which the 2010 models are appointed." OK, just realized this after tearing my 2009 27" iMac apart. So much for being way over psyched to get my iMac an SSD drive... Thought the connections for the port are there... Just no port soldered. Any idea wether they are live and let's say I can manage to install the port - would it work?
