Answer to: sound keeps going on and off
STOP''italic text'' Before you pull out the soldering iron try this. Go to your local electronics parts store and get a can of Electronic control cleaner. It used to be known as "Tuner Cleaner." # 1.Unplug the amp 2.Open the case and locate the control in question, the master volume control will usually have two sections that is two pots siamesed together. 3.Find an opening in the case of each section, very few are totally sealed, and with the extension tube on the spray can squirt some cleaner in each section while rotating the volume control knob. 4.While your inside there give the rest of the controls and switches a shot. It won't hurt them and they probably need it anyway. This will cure 99% of volume control problems. It is also a lot less dangerous and cheaper than replacing the control! -
Answer to: How do I prevent my guitar's input jack from loosening?
Replace the nut with another nut and do not over tighten. If that doesn't fix it perhaps the threads on the jack are damaged. If it is a plastic bodied jack chances are it is the jack. As far as the loctite is concerned it is an ok idea but may not hold. Nail polish may work better. It is an old tech trick used to keep adjustment pots from moving as well as by manufaturers to keep nuts and screws from working loose and to detect tampering for warranty claims! Before applying the loctite be sure it is CLEAN. Loctite doesn't work if the parts are oily or wax coated and may not work on plastics. Also Loctite is anerobic that is it won't cure in the presence of air, that's why it stays liquid in the bottle. The one or two threads on the jack nut may not be enough for the loctite to cure. To Remove something that has been "locked" with loctite heat it. Loctite is a plastic and heating will cause it to melt and allow the item to be loosened. For small nuts and screws the tip of a soldering iron works well. Most Loc... -

Answer to: Repair of sunroof so it will close/open
Possible fix! Many Japanese cars' are designed similarly in that the fixes are the same. Check the owners manual for a method to "reprogram" the limit on the sunroof and/or windows. I had half of the headliner removed before I looked in the book. Your window is confused and forgot where it is currently positioned! (Don't laugh most automotive accessories are controlled through the onboard computer and just like your laptop can drop a bit or two and lock up or crash, no pun intended.) 1. Disconnect the Negative battery terminal. 2. Wait a few minutes and reconnect the battery. 3. Operate the window by closing it fully and without releasing the button, hold the button for about ten seconds after it is fully closed. 4. Open the window fully and once again hold the for ten seconds after it is fully open. This should reset the end limits for the window. Check the owners manual for specifics on the car. This procedure may also work for some "auto up/down" windows. Finish the fix by reprogramming the radio presets, ...
