  • Answer to: Display with dark vertical stripes

vertical stripes are mostly caused by the ribbon cable (from mobo to screen) being damaged, check down the cable for abrasions, you could also try cleaning the gold contacts on the cable or the port on the motherboard where it plugs into, some iso alcohol would do the trick.
  • Answer to: FM Transmitter fault!

Hi Kieron, The antenna on these things is bizarrely the back of the casing from what i could see when i dismantled one of these a few months ago. If you look at the pictures in step 13 of the tear down guide: Nokia N8 Teardown The copper plated edges around the casing make contact with the copper plated PCB on the motherboard. As with most phone antenna's they have an inductor, generally to reduce call noise, but if it falls off or becomes damaged it will break the circuit and you will not get barely any signal, check if its still in tact. In Step 15 you can see it to the bottom left of the turquoise outlined chip
  • Answer to: iPhone 4 stop working then overheating

This happens when the contacts between the screen connector and logic board are not seated correctly. When you first switched it on and you saw the "rainbow" screen; this is a tell-tale sign that the screen is not connected right. Inspect the connectors on both the logic board and the screen. The connector for the screen is shown in step 30 of this guide: Installing iPhone 4 Display Assembly I'm not saying you were careless but you have possibly damaged a connector pin, i did this once on an iphone3GS and experienced the same problem. The reason it is getting hot is that there is a short or a loose connection between the two and causing the components to over-work inducing heat, in some cases they may have even become damaged.

  • Answer to: How to install a dual SIM holder in I Phone 4?

Step 13: iPhone 4 Teardown you will need to also find somewhere to place the extra SIM holder inside the phones case, with minimal room, this could be difficult. This will not be easy. Alternatively, you could have the cable hanging out of your phone (which i assume is the way they have designed it?) shown here: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.ph... you could tuck it into a phone case?
  • Answer to: PlayTV for Playstation 3

They wouldn't release it if using it all day broke it, sure it will probably drain its life a little bit but not much! These systems are designed to withstand HEAVY usage, we are gamers after all :) spending hours using it! Don't worry about it, SONY are a company designed on extremely high quality craftsmanship, i don't know of any other companies that are quite as anal as SONY about quality and reliability.

  • Answer to: ps3 & 360 hdd in toshiba nb 100 notebook

In the XBOX 360 there is a 2.5" SATA drive In the PS3 there is a 2.5" SATA drive Your NB100 takes 2.5" SATA drives. You will need to format them though, XBOX 360 uses a FATX format which is basically FAT32.. but not. Not sure on the PS3 format. Not sure why you would want to do this though, seems quite strange, you can buy 250GB or above drives for about $40?
