  • Answer to: What's the reason of this display trouble?

This looks like a faulty graphics chip on the logic board. You have 3 options to repair this: 1) 1- Replace the entire logic board. 1) 2- Perform a reflow on the faulty graphics chip with a heat gun. Check out this old post: http://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/18484... 1) 3- What i have done that works best is to perform a BGA reballing on the graphics chip but you need specialized tools and skills with soldering to do this and can be more expensive than replacing the logic board What I would do in your situation is attempt the reflow first to see if it works. If it doesn't then I would just replace the logic board. See this guide: iMac Intel 17" Logic Board Replacement If you want more info on reflowing or reballing try a google search of GPU reflow diy, BGA rework. I hope this helps, good luck!
  • Answer to: Battery not detected, won't charge; strange connector on logic board?

I have repaired many macbooks with the same or similar problems. Sometimes the macbook wont recognize the battery. Here are some things I have done to fix theses problems on some macbooks: 1) Disconnect removable devices from the macbook such as USB drives, firewire drives etc. 2) Remove any discs from the superdrive. 3) Disconnect the charger. 4) Remove the battery. 5) Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds. 6) Connect the charger while still holding the power button, keep holding the power button for 10 seconds. (Note: This must be done WITHOUT THE BATTERY) 7) Turn the macbook on and immediately press and hold command+option+P+R keys. Release the keys when you hear the apple chime sound 3 or 4 times. (must be done before you see the white screen at start up) 8) Shut off the macbook when you get to the login screen or the desktop. 9) While the macbook is OFF press and hold Command+Option+Left Shift+ Power Button for 5 seconds. The sleep LED will go crazy and you might hear a loud tone coming from the...
  • Answer to: Battery Not Charging, BIL LED error

I have repaired many macbooks with the same or similar problems. Sometimes the macbook wont recognize the battery. Symptoms can include the following: When you plug in the charger the LED on the magsafe will have abnormal behavior like the LED will be a dull green instead of the normal bright green you see when the battery is fully charged. When the macbook is turned on the fans will be on at full speed and noisy. Monitoring Apps or widgets like iStat pro will not recognize or display battery specifications and temperatures from temp sensors. If you use the macbook without a charger the macbook works but the battery icon on the top right of the desktop will have an "X" through it. The macbook will freeze when you open up apps. When you quit apps they still stay on the dock and show up as still running. Here are some things I have done to fix theses problems on some macbooks: 1) Disconnect removable devices from the macbook such as USB drives, firewire drives etc. 2) Remove any discs from the superdrive. 3) Di...
  • Answer to: serial number after processor change

The serial number belongs to the logic board. The CPU processor is soldered onto the logic board so in order to replace the processor you would have to replace the entire board or if you had the equipment and skills, remove the CPU chip from the board and solder on a new one onto it. • Answer to: Why will my car not turn over

Off the top of my head it could be a bad ignition switch, a bad fuse, a bad battery, a bad starter or in some vehicles the manufacturer has an immobilizer set where it will lock the car from starting in case of a theft attempt. Sometimes putting the wrong key in the ignition will activate the immobilizer. When this happens you will usually see a light in the console with a lock or a key icon. In some cars if you leave the key in the ignition and turn the key (but not crank it), and leave the key in for 30 minutes it will disable the immobilizer. If this was my car I would do go about repairing the problem in this order: 1) Make sure the car is in park. I have seen this before when people forget that the car is not in park and doesn't let the car start. 2) Find out if the car has an immobilizer. 3) If it does then try the immobilizer trick or find out how to disable it. 4) Check fuses. 5) Have battery tested for free at an auto parts store. 6) Remove starter and have it tested for free at an auto parts store. ...
  • Answer to: I cannot open applications

Try closing all the open applications. Double click the home button, this will bring up all the apps that are currently open on the dock. Click and hold on one of the apps until you see a red minus sign on all of the apps. Then close all the apps. Here is a video in case you get stuck: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BpKelKliI0 Sometimes what happens is that people don't know how to properly close apps and eventually they have so many apps open that the iOS device becomes super slow and then you start getting problems running the apps. I have seen this many times with my customers iOS devices. If this doesn't work then try reseting the settings in the settings app under "general" Another thing to try is hold down the sleep/wake/power button on the top right and turn off the ipad then restart it.
  • Answer to: Where are the antennas located on the iPhone 5?

The antenna are located on the bottom of the iPhone 5. They appear to be part of the lightning connector assembly. In this image you can see where the ifixit tech is removing the antenna connector from the logic board: http://guide-images.ifixit.net/igi/cI1RnprSrc1W55vY.l... Here is a picture of the lightning connector assembly. You can see the antenna cable hanging: http://guide-images.ifixit.net/igi/n4yuSLdaluoxL5EY.l... • Answer to: How to guide for video card replacement?

The graphics chip is built into the logic board like most laptops out there not just Apples. Check out these pictures so you can get an idea of what it looks like: Logic Board inside your MacBook Pro So if you were to upgrade you would have to replace the entire logic board and it would be expensive. Not that it matters because I don't believe any MacBook Pro's with a similar logic board layout were ever released with Radeon graphics, but I could be wrong, i am not 100% on that. Best advice I could give you is wait for the patch or try running the game as is and just watch out for temperatures. Nvidia graphics chips are notorious for having cheap soldering that melts when overheated. Good luck!!

  • iBook G3 12" Lower Case Replacement

The 3 long screws (not the ones under the rubber feet) are 2.5mm x 20mm metric. Head style is cheese head. i found replacements for these at ACE hardware, for about $0.08 each in a flat head drive style which IMO are better than the hex style that can easily be stripped.
