  • Answer to: Why is the front camera image blurry after screen replacement?

when you put on the adhesive 3m tape to connect the glass down is it going over the spot where the camera is? I have ordered pieces of tape that werent perfect and they went over the camera area which would make it blurry, you would need to cut that portion out.
  • Answer to: logic Board with Battery issue?

The volts dont matter, the problem is the water makes a reverse polarity against the ipod and wont allow it to turn on. Put a new battery in and I bet she turns on for you. I repair about 200 ipods a month and a battery is always a must!!
  • Answer to: Install LCD and Digitzer as 2 pieces?

I have a repair center and use the two separate pieces all the time and its perfectly fine!! Apple actually made this design because they want people to stop repairing their units. They use the broken ones and refurbish them for warranty units.
  • Answer to: battery connection plate came off mainboard

This is simple, the pad the lifted off you need to put back in place. If you have rosin flux in a liquid form use that cause once it dries it becomes sticky and will hold it in place for a little while. Then solder the two outside connections of the battery first and then lastly solder the center connection. This will keep the connection held down and the flux will conduct electricity through itself. I have done it many times
  • Answer to: iPod has volume icon in screen all the time

Yes, I have a repair center and I can tell you how to fix this. The ipod touch screen needs to be removed as well as everything else including the lcd and mother board along with the wifi cable which lies above the sleep button flex cable. Once everything is out you can access the sleep and volume buttons which are all one piece. Remove the four screws holding the buttons in place then life all adhesive and tape holding it to the backplate. Once done then just simply swap a new one in place and reassemble. You can purchase the parts off of ebay for about $10.00 Remember be careful and have soft hands so you dont break the lcd and touch screen which will throw your repair up another $30.00
  • Answer to: iPod touch A1318 does not turn on at all

I have a repair center and everytime I replaced a battery in a unit like this the ipod just continued to get hotter with power until it shut off completely. The board is bad and possibly something is making a connection where it shouldnt make one. Before you put a battery in use isopropyl alcohol to clean the whole board, look for green or white dust like a car battery gets. This can cause problems, once your done cleaning the unit blow on the mother board until the alcohol evaporates then try plugging it back into power source. If it continues to get hot just call it a loss!!

  • Answer to: sleep wake button not working

I can help you diagnose the problem here. First take off your backplate so you can see the battery and logic board. In the top right corner you will see a gold "z" spring. take a small screwdriver and angle it on the ipod touch somewhere that is metal and touch it to the z spring. you need to make a ground, you can even just move it around a bunch trying to make a connection. If the ipod sleeps or wakes up then you just need a flex cable for the sleep button,,
  • Answer to: iPod Touch 3g Battery

The three points all have metal connection which need solder!! if you over heat the board its hard but if you roll the solder directly below to the gold point you will return the connection!! you can also slip the lifted pad back in place and solder the two outside points down then solder the middle one last and this will actually hold it down and keep connection as well.
  • Answer to: Torn Digitizer Connector - iPod Touch 4

You need a lcd and digitizer as the stock ones are glued together and cannot be separated without breaking the lcd. They sell the parts on ebay and is cheaper if you buy them separately rather than pre assembled.
