I can't find this cable, not one to be found. And here I sit with my Mini torn apart. Has anyone been able to locate one or do they have another suggestion?

This solution is mentioned later on in the discussion for this guide and I decided to go this route since I needed something that would physically secure the 2nd HD in the case. It is a more expensive than going the cable route, but is very easy to install.

I purchased this bay/carrier and just installed it into the Mini. It was a perfect fit and such an easy install. Thanks toosimple for the tip!!!!

This solution worked for me as well. I needed a way to secure the 2nd HD within the case because I'm going to ship my Mini for colocation.

  • Mac mini Model A1283 Top Housing Replacement

I tried using business cards with the putty knife, but in the initial stages there just isn't enough room in the slit to get them in there with the putty knife. I was also really worried about scratching the case, but just went really slowly with the putty knife and mine came out scratch free. :)

  • MacBook Pro 15" Core 2 Duo Models A1226 and A1260 Hard Drive Replacement

I used the round pointed part of the spudger (the opposite end of the one pictured in step 10) and started from the part of the cable that wasn't glued to the top of the hard drive. Insert the round pointed part under the bottom of the cable, perpendicular to it, and then roll it towards the glued part on the hard drive. The cable should separate quite easily from the drive . It was much easier doing it this way than using the chisel part of the spudger to separate the cable from the drive.

I'm awaiting the slim- to regular-SATA cables (from Amazon) to do my late '09 2.53. Have a WD 640GD installed and am replacing the optical drive w/ an OCZ SSD. Follow a print version of the instructions while doing it and you'll be fine.

Would someone please post a link to where I can purchase the 6 pin SATA power to 4 pin Molex power cable? I've been searching for it, but can't find it anywhere. Thanks.
