  • Answer to: Why does my ibook crash in Safari?

Sorted it, the problem was faulty RAM although it did not show up on the Hardware test, when I swapped the RAM out for a different chip all the crashing stopped!
  • Answer to: How can I Install OS 9.2.2

Managed to fix it in the end. I installed OS 9.2.2 on to the Pismo by booting it up in target disc mode. Then I used a mates Pismo to 'bless' the system folder on my pismo. Then hey presto it booted up! The problem was that the system folder needed to be 'blessed' or it wouldnt boot up, but you cant do this in OSX. thefax, Apr 20 @ 9:01 PM • Delete

  • Answer to: Airport, no networks showing

Here's another thought, I have just noticed that when the lid is closed the mac wont go to sleep, could this be related? I presume that this is a faulty reed switch but dont know if it would affect the networks not showing up in the airport control panel
  • Answer to: Airport, no networks showing

The trouble with those usb sticks is they are prone to snapping and breaking which is why I really need the internal one to do it's job. The other airport card that I tried definately works (see original post) it is currently in my other laptop talking to all the networks in the house and a work a treat so I know there are no issues with either card as I have tried them in the laptop that does work and they both see all networks fine.
  • Answer to: Airport, no networks showing

Have tried all the things above but still no networks showing, I have replaced the airport antenna inside the mac with a new unit, I have checked the airport card by swapping it with one I know definately works on another machine. I have wiped and re-instaleld the OS and checked for any damage ie bent pins in the card slot.. and STILL get no networks showing, the mac sees the card no problem but just cannot see any networks!!! HELP!!
  • Answer to: Airport, no networks showing

Hi, when i replaced the airport antenna I also put in a new hard drive which I installed 10.4.1 on to so I doubt this would be the problem. Is there anyway it could be a problem where the airport card meets the logicboard? If so any ideas how I could fix it?
