If I remember right you have lost the HD in this system. For some reason the HD is not spinning and will give you the bomb. The system disk for these older computers was different for each one. I used to have them, but they went out, when I moved.

The MacBook 2009 was redesigned and the Express Card will no longer work. The MacBook 2006 has a PCIe slot 34 which was a 32 bit card. The slot was equilivent to a PCMCIA slot used in older model G3 laptops. The short answer it will not work. The newer processors are 64 bit and older cards will not be supported.

Get your self an freezer bag from your fridge and place a towel around it. Then try booting your computer. If it is a cooling problem, the computer will continue to run. If the thermal connectivity has failed in the chip, the computer will freeze up after 8 to 10 minutes. Now you will be able to see if you have a heat problem or a motherboard problem. iBooks are known to have chip failure. The thermal conductivity between the layers comes unglued and renders the computer junk. Unless you can preform heat sink surgery. using heat sink extreme heating. Go to youtube and search for iBook repairing of chip on an iBook.

A better way of heating the chip, is to use a small metal disc, about the size of 1 1/2" placed on top of the video chip. I used a work bench metal stop block, then used a propane torch and aimed it at the top metal post. Not near the chip. The heating of the post heated the chip and I had success getting the second output working on the ibook. The internal one did not come back, put you have a working computer. Just use a VGA monitor a your screen.

To run a Windows OS on your Mac, you will need to make a partition separate on to which the Windows OS can be loaded. Next you will need dual booting available e.g. Boot Camp for Mac. then things should load Ok. Make the partition at least 30 to 40 gig's, as Windows uses a lot of disk space to run it, and even more ram to keep it working.

In colder climates, you need to bring your portable devices inside overnight. This will prevent the batteries from dying too soon. You may also need to have a backup supply of batteries or a battery pack to help support your device. Most cars and trucks still have power adapters for you to run your device. Now you can buy portable converters to run A/C products in you vehicle. As long a your heater in your vehicle works you should be OK.

Remove your access panel, and take out the old cord. You can use a computer power cord. Just cut off the end and strip back the outer casing. You will find a Black, White and Green wire. Just connect the wires to the same terminals in the Microwave, Replace your covers and you are set to go. (N.B. Some makers solder the ends of the wires or use crimp connectors ) Just make sure that the gauge of the new cord is the same as the older one one the microwave.

Get yourself a copy of OS 9.0 and see if you can get a desktop, and find out how large a HD you have on that machine. You will need at least a 20 gig HD and then try to install OS X, the first version. Tiger and Leopard are video disk versions and the G3 does not have a Disc burner

Go out to your local computer store and buy a cooling fan, that looks like a laptop and place it under the laptop and plug it into the USB port. This will cool your laptopas the excessive heating is causing your processor to shut down, if you don't do this you will have junk on your hands.

It usually means that your computer is running too hot. I have found most laptop do not cool adequately and need extra cooling. I suggest that you buy an external Fan that is made to sit under your laptop and plugs into the USB. This is cheaper than a new laptop, as the extreame heat will cause the processor to fail.
