Ok we all don't know if the failure is a HW or SW issue. So do this: Hold CMD + V for Verbose Mode during Startup - Where do the System hang? Write down the last three Lines. When you don't see the spinning wheel then something with the HW need to be checked. I suggest an RAM or MLB failure. So check first Verbose Mode. Bye

Hi Bryan, 1. Boot from Install DVD 2. Choose Language -> and wait 3. Click on top Menü -> Utilities 4. Click on Disk Utility 5. Choose new HDD on left side with the GB in it 6. Choose on the right the erase pane 7. Choose "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" 8. Click Erase. The new Disk is now formated and ready to use. You don't need to partition the HDD if no partition is created yet. Erase is absolutly fine.

Why should Apple replace the part only if some people has nearly sounded issue with the unit? I tell you what. The TG0H error suggest the GPU heat-sink sensor is faulty. You should check in this direction. SNS still means that you have to check your unit according LogicBoard Failures. In this case SNS=Sensor issues. When you have a lot of time then you can spend it by finding the right solution for this problem. In my opinion there is only one I would check. 1. Do I have a backup of the data of the defect HDD? Yes then put the bad unit in the garbage and replace it with a new on. 2. When you don't hv a backup and there is no chance go get to the data then read 1. and replace the unit. Thats the fastest way.

Try an other Inverterboard that controls the backlighting and so the flickering. Maybe some cables are on wrong position. Check temperature of the CPU with iStat Pro widget. Is there a flickering when you connect a Display to the DVI Port?

Maybe the I/O Board in the Mini is defect and need to be replaced when points that charles2 mentioned not helped. When there is no way to get Firewire to function properly again even a problem in the LB is possible.

I knew this problem. Had a different issue with an other PM G5 Dual with a defective 1000 W PowerSupply. I solved it by searching the www espacially in Germany where I live, for an company who repairs Power Supplies very cheap but with quality. Found one talked with them and disassamble the PowerSupply and send it to them 5 days after it was repaired and it cost under 180 EUR incl. 6 Month of warranty. You must know that all powersupplies are nearly the same for an electrican. So go for it there are cheap ways to solve that problem.
