    My eMac stopped booting yesterday and when I try holding cmd+s at start-up fsck -fy says the volume appears to be ok. When I boot with sh /etc/rc, It goes until it gets stuck on 'SystemStarter[67] : Waiting for Apache web server'. I don't know what this means, can I fix it?

    I have taken Electronics as a subject for 4 years and I am currently taking it for GCSE. We always house circuits in plastic cases and these are either vacuum moulded or laser cut. The laser cutter is perfectly safe for cutting plastic provided it has a ventilation device, which is really should. In the program we use, Black lines engrave on the surface of the plastic, red lines cut through and blue lines rasta. I have laser cut on Acrylic and Formex. Also, Apple provide a laser engraving service for iPod or iPhone on purchase. You only get a few lines of text but it shows it can be done.

    No, the iBook G4 connector is a bit smaller than the iBook G3 one. Also, your keys wouldn't match the colour of the case If you feel you need a new one you can buy a USB Keyboard as iFixit don't seem to sell iBook G3 parts anymore

    Turning up the fans is a solution, if you can adjust the fans you could get a temperature sensor widget or application. That way you could manually spin the fans when necessary. I recommend iStat Pro, it's a widget that harnesses all your technical information including all your machine's temperature sensors

    I think once you've spilt liquid under the keys and four or five no longer light up you might need to do more than clean under them. However, if careful you can pull the key off the board and 'if careful' leave the key's fixings on the board so you can just stick it back on. I hope that answers the question but i doubt it will solve your problem

    Q-Tips or dry cotton wool should clean your ports well. As for the mag-safe charger port, the magnetism can hold some dirt to it. This can be hard to remove but Q-tips and a little extra effort should clear it out

    Not 100% sure about Linux but I know that the only function on windows OSs is the right click you mentioned. The multi-touch features will not work. It has been suggested around the super information highway that Apple may be releasing Windows drivers for them, but I don't know about Linux. It still has a particularly low market share

    Not unless you have to! Most parts can be removed with this left in. Don't try pulling on it unless you have to, it can easily break the logic board. Just tilt the upper case up to lean it on the display.

    You don't have to remove the power button connector to remove most parts! It's really dodgy and can break your logic board. When you peel up the glue on the wire for the microphone connector, lean the upper case on the display.
