PowerBook G4 Aluminum 15" Upgrade Guide
Stuck in a rut? Your computer wants to do better. If only it had...
RAM
More RAM equals more speed and performance. Aluminum 15" uses PC2700 RAM for all models except 1.67 HR (PC2-4200). Upgrading (1.0-1.5 (BT 1.1) or 1.5 (BT 2.0)-1.67 (LR)) your RAM is a quick and painless way to add more muscle to your machine. We offer different sizes, from 128 MB to 1 GB. Browse all of our RAM.
Hard Drive
There are two factors to consider when upgrading (1.0-1.5 (BT 1.1) or 1.5 (BT 2.0)-1.67 (LR)) your hard drive. The most obvious upgrade is total amount of space. However, disk speed also significantly contributes to performance. Your Aluminum 15" uses hard drives with an ATA connector, ranging from 2 to 160 GB and from 4200 to 7200 RPM. Browse our hard drives to find what works best for you.
Optical Drive
As far as optical drives go for your Aluminum 15", there are two paths to happiness. A combo drive will read CDs and DVDs and burn CDs. A Superdrive, for the ultimate pyro, also burns DVDs. Read and write speeds range up to 24x CD read/write and/or 8x DVD read/write. Check out our combo drives.
Wireless
If you still plug in to access the internet, add an Airport Extreme Card to your PowerBook. Fortunately, adding an Airport card to your PowerBook is very easy.
