My Problem
Motorola XOOM Won't Charge or Power On
My Fix
Read on a forum that one person said that unplugging the battery and reconnecting it would solve this problem so I ordered the 3 items from IFixit that I needed to get inside. The repair was a success. I removed the battery connection inside and reconnected and now the battery is back to charging and the unit will now boot up as normal so I am a happy camper. This was the best $23 that I have spent to save my $400 tablet. Thanks iFixit!
My Advice
Nothing to add. I just followed the ifixit teardown instructions and got inside to the battery just fine.
My Problem
The original battery was defective so I went to the source ifixit.com and the process was incredible!!
My Fix
The instructions and the equipment are indeed top notch! The new battery is an "actual" for those wondering if there are Apple replacement parts, yes for sure, you can even see in the pictures I've uploaded. The new battery has an even more juice coming in at 6800 mAh
My Advice
ifixit.com is the number one source for correcting products!
My Problem
Some time ago I tried to order a MacBook Air replacement battery with iFixit, but due to shortage of supply it was going to take too long for me get the part. I did order the screwdrivers for the job (T5 and P5). And I found another supplier for the battery (won't name the company, but they claim to love macs alot). They supplied the wrong model battery and subsequently refused to refund for the wrong item and the corresponding shipment and customs clearing costs until I was able (after very long and frustrating argumentation by e-mail and escalation to their sales manager) to get the refund (the wrong battery was returned to them with FedEx). This took several weeks.
As if by coincidence, the day I receive confirmation that the wrong battery was returned, iFixit notified me that the item was again in stock ... so I ordered the item with iFixit. Within 3 days I had the CORRECT battery in my house, and 10 minutes later had it installed in the MacBook Air ...
No need to clarify who in this story is referred to in my story title as "the good", and who is referred to as "the bad (and ugly)" ...
Way to go iFixit, great customer satisfaction here ...
My Fix
Very easy, step-by-step instructions were very accurate and made it a really fast replacement
My Advice
Don't hesitate to purchase the tools and spare parts with iFixit ... and avoid suppliers who through their company name claim to "love macs" but don't even know what customer service is ...
My Problem
I spilled coffee all over my MacBook Air.
My Fix
Wonderfully. I used the teardown guide to assist with cleaning the guts of my computer. It was nearly flawless.
My Advice
Don't spill coffee. Take your time with the repair, and be gentle.
My Problem
screen became unresponsive. I need it for work
My Fix
I ordered the tools through you and when they arrived i dismantled it and ordered the screen
My Advice
follow the easy instructions on iFixit...thats all....easy
My Problem
Battery of a 2.5 year old MacBook Air needed replacement.
My Fix
Not yet completed. When following the instructions from iFixit to remove the battery (which by the way are excellent !!), I found that the battery I had ordered from another supplier (iFixit does not have this article available) was the wrong one. I am in the process of getting that fixed, and re-installed the original battery. I will let you know the final outcome (with pictures) as soon as the correct battery has been delivered.
My Advice
Eye-opener to me was that some of the articles from Apple (which I am and will stay an advocate of) are not as rigid (in terms of replacing parts) as they are thought to be. Companies like iFixit help take the life cycle of your equipment to the next level.
Just make sure that when ordering replacement parts, you look for as many references as possible (serial numbers, model numbers, ...) before ordering, in order to avoid getting wrong parts delivered.
The tools from iFixit are great quality/value ratio.
My Problem
Failed fan frightened fellow faculty.

My Problem
By accident my keyboard got wet, and some keys stopped working, It became really annoying not to be able to write correctly, so I decided to fix it.
My Fix
The repair went really smoothly, having gotten the tools you recommended and the parts needed, the instructions where really helpful tho there where two things I wold like to comment about, one is that in the tools list I did not see that there was the need of a philips screw driver of 1.6 mm, tho it was not a big problem since I had one at home, just a comment for future clients. The second is that there is a step missing on the instructions, its about removing the battery, again this was not problem for me since its easy to do, but the instructions would be perfect if they did not missed this step. Thank you tho, my computer is now working 100% I will gladly use your website and store again if necessary.
My Advice
Simply follow the steps carefully and you shouldn't have a problem.
My Problem
The right speaker sounded awful
My Fix
This is very easy and takes only 15 minutes
My Advice
Nothing
My Problem
My Fix
Le remplacement s'est passé sans aucun soucis. Entre les photos très bien détaillées de la procédure à suivre et la petite vidéo en tête de page, même un enfant pourrait le faire.
My Advice
Le seul conseil: suivre pas à pas la procédure.
Ah si, ne pas oublier d'éteindre son Mac Book Air avant de commencer...!
