Metal Spudger Set

$7.95

Product code: IF145-017-1

Product Overview

Freddy Krueger was the first man to reveal our deep-seated inhibitions towards poking. But ever since he's abandoned nightmare murdering in favor of Portuguese miniature dog grooming, there's been a resurgent interest in the field of methodical poking, or spudgery, as some have called it.

Now punctilious prodding can be yours in our delightfully pokey metal spudger set. Enjoy an assortment of poking methods: poke with wide ends, thin ends, blunt ends, and pointed ends. These spudgers are fantastic for all types of opening, prying, and delicate work.

NOTE: These tools are only intended for the benevolent poking that electronics require from time to time.

My Problem

I stood on my mac when it was shut and cracked the screen

My Fix

The first time I ordered the tools via the guide, only to find out I need more tools as my macpro was newer than the guide although it had the same model number.

(2011)

I have yet to try again with the additional tools.

My Advice

Name the year models in the guide please and maybe have a one click "here is all the tools you need for the job" button.

My Problem

I have a selection of Apple products and it seem each has at least one crazy type of screw or needs some odd tool. After years fo frustration I ordered a Pro tool set. It's great but I'm still missing the screw driver for the iPhone 4s.

My Fix

The first repair job was to replace an iPhone 3g front glass. The parts from iFixit were perfect and it only took 10 minutes to follow the online instruction and finish the job.

My Advice

If you order the pro tech base tool kit - order the iphone 4s screwdriver because it's not included

My Problem

very happy with the order i got

My Advice

very happy with the order i got

My Problem

My Xbox had already had the RROD, I had sent it in once to someone who "knew" how to fix fit, then it got it again.

My Fix

The repair was pretty straight forward, i had bought the kit, just followed the step by step tutorials on the RROD fix, re-applying thermal paste, and reflowing the board. It's been about a month now and it's still running RROD free.

My Advice

Take your time.

My Problem

I was changing out the keyboad on a 2008 Aluminum Uni-body Macbook. The whole keyboard had be spoiled by a spill.

My Fix

The replacement that I got didn't include the trackpad so I had to swap this out from the broken one. The Y bits were needed for this and it turned out neither of the one's in the kit would fit the little tensioning slug at the bottom of the trackpad because they were both too pointy. I noticed that the driver they were using in the iFixit instructions wasn't he one from the kit. The one's in the kit are too pointy to fit that slug.

My Advice

Got it out easily but getting it in mostly involved a munged up plastic spudger (or black stick as Apple calls it) and a pair of needle nosed plyers. The bits in the kit would have to be ground almost flat an the tip to fit the slot.

My Problem

My Macbook Air lost audio suddenly with out a warning. I called apple for advice, and got hit in the face with a ridiculous repair quote. I decided to do a google search, which led me to your web site.

My Fix

I was worried that this repair would be over my head, but your pictures, and clear instructions made this a walk in the park. It took me 13 minutes to fix my Macbook(I timed my self).

My Advice

Just do it. Save your self the headache of shipping and overpriced repairs from Apple.

My Problem

Daughter got too enthusiastic cleaning the keyboard, and can only assume the window cleaner must have carried dirt into the contacts. Columns of keys stopped working.

Battery had died of old age: no longer registered with the diagnostic subsystem.

My Fix

Followed the instructions and it all came together as described. Keyboard and battery working 100% again.

My Advice

Lay the screws and fixings out in the order in which you take them out (according to the directions). Makes it easier to locate everything in the reassembly.

My Problem

The graficchip looks like defect. But its mounted on the Logicboard. So first tried to backe the board (may the Chip could have some contact problems.) But didn't fix the Problem. So the board was to expencive to replace, so i get th HD away from the MacBook to backup the userdate via USB-SATA-Bridge to a iMac

My Fix

The Magnetizer/Demagnetizer "glues" the very smal screws at the screwdriver, the Spungers helped me to open the Cover an disconnect the cables, the Arctic Silver Thermal Past was used to remont the locigboard

My Advice

Look very carfully for the place of every screws at the MacBook - also some inside - to open the cover. See at the other Advice to replace the Board

My Problem

cracked glass

My Fix

it's as good as new

My Advice

watch several youtube videos.

My Problem

My son spilled milk on his MacBook keyboard. Nuff said... :(

My Fix

The replacement part was perfect. The online guide with photos and the instructional video were amazingly helpful. The keyboard is replaced and the MacBook is working perfectly!!! Thanks!!

My Advice

You can do it!! Look at the instructional videos of the repair you might want to attempt. It really is as easy as it looks. I would however recommend that you purchase the special tools they suggest. These are not that expensive and they were essential to my repair. Very pleased with my purchase and experience.
