iPhone got wet with water from the bilge in my sailboat (aka greasy salt water)

My Problem

Phone would connect to iTunes and I could hear Siri but no display.

My Fix

I ordered the Display assembly, followed the guide, had trouble with the corner screw by the headphone jack and had to remove the jack. There was also a cross threaded screw on one side (was able to pull and then push new screen in anyway). I also botched the reassembly trapping the power button under the logic board which made it inoperable, but the rest of the phone works perfectly.

My Advice

Take your time. Use the screw template, watch for the corner screws and the power button cable when putting the logic board back on. This is totally doable.
