Battery was fading, but IFIXIT came to the rescue

My Problem

After 2.7 years, the battery in my Verizon iPhone 4 wouldn't hold a charge nearly as well as it did when it was new. Rather than pay an exorbitant fee for someone else to replace it--and suffer as much as a week's downtime--I decided the give IFIXIT a try.

My Fix

The repair itself was a piece of cake, taking all of about 15 minutes. The IFIXIT replacement guide was comprehensive, accurate, and easy to follow. And I got a sense of accomplishment once the job was done, which was pretty cool.

My Advice

You can do it, too, if you try! Just be patient in carrying out the repair steps.
