My Problem
Oldish ipod, 2005 vintage. The battery would no longer hold a charge and I do like to use it on moto rides.
My Fix
I took the thing apart and put it back together first to see if it would still work after I had pried it open. It did, so I ordered the battery, pried it open AGAIN. The new battery works fine.
My Advice
Be careful of the tiny wedge that holds the battery cable onto the board. I pulled the thing completely free of the connection.
It still inserts fine, but the tiny piece would be very easy to loose.
Helpful hint: Use some scotch tape to secure the battery cable while you're fussing with making a good connection. After the flat cable is secure its easy to remove the tape before snapping the case together.
