On the importance of screen protectors

My Problem

My iphone 5 had dust in the camera lense, so I took it apart to clean it.

My Fix

The cleaning itself was largely uneventful, though I didn't manage to remove all the dust, and red spots would appear in the camera app. I had to remove the screen protector to get the screen off though, and this proved to be a fatal mistake -- before I could get a replacement I dropped the phone and shattered the screen.

My Advice

Make sure you have a replacement screen protector before you start repairs.
