My Problem
I had two 3GS iphones laying around since I upgraded 3 years ago. I decided to replace the battery on one and see how that would work out. My son who is almost 10 wanted to use it as an ipod. What a great way to re-use an old phone! So I ordered the battery and repair kit. Installing the new battery was easy, but the battery was a dud. So was the 2nd one iFixit sent me. But, the third time was a charm, battery charged perfectly. BAM! My son now has a new to him iphone 3gs he uses as an ipod. So, with my daughter having her birthday next month, I ordered a battery for the 2nd iphone 3gs and it charged fine. Now they each have their own and can play games together if they want. No need to spend 2 hundred bucks on a Nintendo 3DS. The old iphones do so much more!
My Fix
Repair was easy, instructions were clear and helpful.
My Advice
The screws are very small. Use a white rag or towel to work on so they are easily visible and don't roll around.
