My Problem
The phone would no longer charge and I had about 2000 pictures and home movies on it along with all of my contacts and notes. Sure, it would have been a good idea to BACK IT UP, but I didn't. Besides, it was a perfectly good device and should be working.
My Fix
The instructions were pretty. Be very careful about placing all the parts in the order they were taken out so that it will be much easier to put everything back the correct way. Also, be sure any cats are LOCKED up during this repair (maybe children too) or their curiosity will frustrate the heck out of you.
My Advice
A couple of steps could have used a video to make the instructions more clear. For example on the "iPhone 4 Verizon Dock Connector Replacement instructions" step #16 I didn't quite know how to pry up on the hinged retaining flap, not the socket itself and almost broke it. After seeing it, it became very clear and a video would have shown this well. All in all though this WENT GREAT and I recovered all the data and now have an extra iPhone. Thank you very much. Sorry, no pictures, my camera was broken!
