My Problem
Laptop was running hot. I found out that the left fan was dead. A quick search landed me on iFixit with great instructions and pictures of how to remove and replace the fan.
My Fix
Fan replacement took about 10 minutes. 5 for the actual replacement, 5 to clean out all of the dust that has collected inside the laptop over the years.
My Advice
The inside of the Mac isn't as scary as I imagined. Get in there and play around.
