Replace an iMac Drive

My Problem

The drive in my iMac failed.

My Fix

After ordering the parts from iFixit and using the guide on-line, the repair went very smooth and easy (it took a little more than an hour from start to finish). The only difference is that I removed the drive thermal sensor before removing the drive (the removal of the sensor was easier with the drive secured in the chassis then unplugging the sensor). Otherwise I followed the steps in order and everything was as documented.

My Advice

I don't know how I was able to take anything apart without the magnetic project mat (it held the screws in place and I was able to mark where they came from).
