My Problem
My iPod was getting no power from the battery.
My Fix
The Ifixit guide and repair equipment were very helpful and properly warned me of all hazards and difficulties.
My Advice
The most trouble I had was with two parts of the repair: 1) the initial insertion of the tools into the iPod needed help from a single sided razor blade. This was extremely helpful for me to get the putty knife into the case; I can understand why you do not suggest using a razor blade as this could easily cause injury. 2) After I had replaced the battery I dropped both halves of the iPod and the brittle headphone cable broke in two (I was unable to separate the cable from it's socket on the other half). I am now waiting on that part to complete my repair.
