My Problem
daughter dropped phone, daddy had to fix phone. Son dropped phone, daddy had to fix that phone as well. replaced two touch screens and back lids. the first took me two hours, the second phone less than an hour.
My Fix
the repair went very well. the online instructions had been very helpful. overall the repair was not bad and took me about an hour.
My Advice
when replacing a touch screen you must be very careful to snake the touch screen ribbon cables through the designated slot. when in place each cable must be of equal length. the smaller of the two cables can bunch up easily resulting in the cable being slightly shorter. if this happen the cable will not reach the mother board connector. pulling on it WILL break it, you need to seat the top side of the screen first. then check the cables are same length before seating the rest of the touch screen. once in place just put back together. ordering the tool kit is helpful, however the supplied Philips driver was not small enough for all the tiny screws.
