My Problem
Our beloved Wii would not read disks anymore. The children were glum and upset. A co-worker told me about I fixit.com and I ordered the parts after seeing the great photo step by steps. When the part came my son and I joined forces to replace the DVD drive and we are back in the Zelda world once more to the delight of children in my home.
My Fix
The repair went pretty well. One issue was the rubber washers we were told via instructions to remove but not told where they went? We ended up using two on the main screws that hold the unit inside since the drive rattled and moved without them. Not sure if we were supposed to do that? We did end up with 2 screws of different sizes in the end. We went back through the whole repair but couldn't figure out where they came from. But the Wii is working now so that was the goal...and most of us are missing a few screws on occasion right?
My Advice
Just to mention where to put the rubber washers in the instructions. That is missing.
