My Problem

Just as I was about to show a movie to my students one of them handed me a drink to open. I din't know it was carbonated (and warm). When it opened it went all over my computer. We wiped it up and watched the movie but the next day some of the keys were unresponsive. I removed the keyboard and tried to clean it up but afterward the D-key randomly would turn on and repeat. I then tried to get to that key from the top and broke the little scissor mechanism underneath. Time to replace the keyboard.

My Fix

2 days later I had a new keyboard in my hand and 20 minutes later I had an up and running laptop.

My Advice

Don't pitch it, fix it! Don't over tighten the screw. By the way the 00 phillips seemed a little big.
