My Problem
Screen glass on the MacBook Pro was cracked.
My Fix
Okay, well, bottom line: it worked. Overall, it took about 2 1/2 hours, but I was working really slowly. The big problem in the process was heating the glue around the old glass with a hair dryer and trying to get the old glass off. It just wouldn't come off. Because we already had a crack all the way across it, the glass finally fractured and we ended up getting it off in pieces. Luckily, the LCD display was not damaged (I work slow when necessary). Reassembly was smooth.
My Advice
The first plug that you have to remove: it pulls out parallel to the board, not away from it. And the old glue -- I have no idea what would've worked better. We had the hair dryer on high, and got the glass warm, almost hot and it just wasn't coming out like in the instruction and pictures. No enlightenment here. And we didn't take pictures....
