My Problem

Was passing down trusty laptop to middle son. Fan was scary loud and unit was starting to overheat. Decided to change HD and fan so unit would be tolerable for his use.

My Fix

Was relatively easy. The guide you posted was clear and encouraging. Took about 20 mins. Spudger tool made disengaging cables and adhesive easier.

My Advice

Slow but deliberate is the basis for a nondestructive conclusion. Also a multicompartment bin is a good way to keep track of the different types of screws in this and other types of techwork.
