Just Getting Ready

Robert -

My Problem

No real problem. Have a 2011 27" Mac and a 2012 15" MacBook Pro. No real problems yet but you never know.

My Fix

No repair - just being prepared.

My Advice

I'm an MCSE who used to build Windows computers - and fix them, and fix them, and fix them ad nauseoum. I finally grew so tired of the constant problems and repairs I switched to Apple and never looked back. (And believe me, Windows 8 qualified my decision.) I will soon be retiring from my day job, but don't want to be bored so plan to take the Apple Support Technician course. So I'm working up my tool kits with the "proper" equipment for working on our Apples.

Ok, it is now a few weeks later. I ordered the parts needed to add a second internal hard drive to my MacBook Pro (nice easy upgrade for starters), and max out the ram in both my MackBook Pro and 27" iMac. The tools I bought from iFixit are absolutely top of the line and perfect for these small projects. The Ram upgrade is so easy I think my Corgi could do it if he had an opposable thumb. The 2nd hard drive addition was also super easy using the parts and adaptor I obtained from OWC. Apple systems are so cleanly engineered; unlike many brown box Windows systems that look like a snake nest.
