My Problem
My speakers stop working on my iPhone 4S. I tried various noninvasive recommended solutions to fix the problem - none worked. I then knew the speakers had to be replaced. I came across an iFixit Guide. After reviewing the guide, which seemed clear and uncomplicated, I order the speaker part plus the Pro Tech Toolkit.
My Fix
Once I received my order, I sat down with iFixit Guide in hand and within 2 hours I was finished with the repair. Why so long? Well, I have Parkinson's, which slows me down due to the shakes I get (those tiny little screws can be challenging). And I had a tough time in reconnecting to the logic board - the alignment was tight. The Pro Tech Toolkit was a project saver - having the right tools was critical to completing this repair. My Advice
The Guide is very helpful...review it through and be mindful of how you layout the parts for reassembly. I struggled to reattach the logic board connector. Maybe there's an easier way to do it when it comes to aligning up the connectors? However, make sure you have a good light source to shine upon this connector when reattaching - it is certainly helpful to see what your attempting.
