Do Your Own Research, and eventually Do it Yourself

My Problem

Took ibook g4 that didn't power up to the Mac "experts" at the store; these folks wouldn't even suggest a repair (at $500+) because their diagnostic was a broken logicboard. But, I didn't think so. Without much of a fuss went about the most obvious repair needed: the dc jack.

My Fix

Ordered everything needed as far as tools and necessary component (+ guideline) at this very helpful site and within about 30 minutes lo and behold, my ibook g4 like new!

My Advice

If you could tackle a bit of reading, web surfing for answers to your particular electronic fix, by all means do it! Relying on "experts" is way, way more expensive and often unnecessary.
