It gets old

My Problem

iPods like to be used regularly, not shut away for months (years) and then pulled out for occasional heavy use. Both my iPod Video and iPod Mini could only play 20 minutes before being out of juice. Charging them took longer and longer. New purchases were out of the question.

My Fix

Thanks to iFixIt, the batteries arrived faster than expected and the video tutorials made replacing the batteries a snap. I am happily back in heavy use mode with both!

My Advice

The step-by-step photos were essential to my repair experience. Once the batteries were inserted, it was a shocker to read something along the lines of "to complete the repair, follow instructions in reverse" - an abrupt end to the hand-holding repair experience. I would have felt better about coming to that notice if I was told up front that the instructions would take you in, but not out.
