My brother had decided to go rollerblading. Turns out that steep hills and sharp turns dont make the easiest of navigational obstacles. Instead of holding onto his ohh so precious device, he flung it to the street in favor or protecting his own body. Of course being an iPhone, it shattered like cheap glass and need to have the front replaced.
The repair was slow going at first. Upon receiving the original parts from Amazon, the flathead screwdriver didnt quite fit. Mind you, this is after a 2 week late delivery on the package. No skin off my back, but my brother was pretty miffed that a company could be so negligent as to "forget" to ship the package the first time and not even bother to expedite the shipment when it was discovered that the package was already late and not on route. After that ordeal, I ordered a decent screwdriver from ifixit. Once we received the proper screwdriver from ifixit, it became a pretty smooth process. That is, aside from the tiny screws and angrily placing and replacing and again replacing them into the tiny holes in an attempt to put the thing back together.
A little elbow grease goes a long way. Dont be afraid to put a little muscle into it when removing the screws, they are tight little buggers and need a little push to come out. Likewise, make sure you have a decent #00 phillips screwdriver.
