Internal Drive Upgrade - HDD to SSD

by airshelby

My Problem

To save money, I selected the cheapest low end 5200rpm HDD when I bought my new MacBook Pro. - Apple's out of the box prices for upgrades are too pricey.

My Fix

Bought a 3rd part SSD, saved about $300. With the Home Tech Toolkit and the Online manuals, I was able to switch the drive in about 20 minutes. Easy.

My Advice

While the entire tool kit may not be used for this project, I think it is a GREAT investment for a multitude of future use repairing and upgrading.
