I am a composer working within the computer DAW (Digital Audio Workspace) world. I had just purchased some RAM intensive musical software for my DAW and needed to upgrade my RAM. I needed some additional instruction, the Phillips #00 screwdriver, and the Spudger.
10 to 15 minutes or less and I was done. If you have the right tools and training it's easy. Ifixit tools and your instruction helped save me $200.
Just general info: 1) Make sure your Laptop is off at least 10 minutes to cool down before you start work. 2) Touch a metal surface inside your computer before removing the RAM. 3) On a Macbook Pro remember the screws are at an angle. 4) and finally go to ifixit first to get your instructions, parts, and tools.
