My Problem
Humming noise were coming from the right fan.

Perfect! I'd already used the iFixit guide to diagnose the problem.
My Advice
iFixit prying tool, came with another purchase (iPhone 3G battery kit) helped a great deal when disengaging plastic clips (step 8).
