My Problem
Noisy fans in the MacBook Pro made using the laptop nearly impossible. The high pitch whiny rattle was loud and obnoxious at times and what Apple wanted to charge to fix it was like taking out a second mortgage. So when I found iFixit with guides on "how to" I thought why not?
My Fix
The guides didn't make it easy, but they did give me the confidence that it would be something I could do. The guides are straight forward and easy to follow. It wasn't long before I was putting it back together and the problem was gone.
My Advice
Be sure you have the right tools. Don't try to make an oversized phillips screwdriver or torx tool work. Take your time and read through the guides before actually starting the job.
My Problem
Left fan was making loud grinding sound, so both fans replaced to avoid future problems with right fan
My Fix
Instructions were very good with easy step by step procedures.
My Advice
FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS, make sure the i-sight cable and converter cables are properly connected before closing the case. Use something like a daily prescription box to hold all the screws, each day will contain the screws associated with each step.
My Problem
The MacBook was too warm!
My Fix
All OK! It was necessary about 8 housr of work (disassembly and re-assembly the MacBook)
