[* black] Looking closely it appears that there is another difference from the Apple TV 2nd Generation, two antennae!
[* black] While it is unclear where the two antennae terminate, we suspect Apple added the second antenna to address some complaints range and signal strength in the previous model.
[* black] According to the Broadcom splash page, the [link|http://www.broadcom.com/products/Wireless-LAN/802.11-Wireless-LAN-Solutions/BCM4330|BCM4330] includes a "single shared antenna (2.4 GHz antenna for Bluetooth and WLAN)" as well as "on-chip 2.4GHz and 5 GHz WLAN power amplifiers"
