The purpose of this guide is to instruct on how to remove the battery, which is the first key step before doing any repairs on a laptop.

If you’re repairing any part of the computer, it is always important to remove the battery. Follow these steps to remove or change batteries.

Add Note Edit Step 1 — Battery  ¶ 

  • With the laptop placed upside down, locate the "Battery Release" button. It has a little "Padlock" symbol next to it.

  • Slide the "Battery Release" button toward the padlock symbol and hold it there. Note:- The button is spring loaded and will return if released.

  • Gently extract the battery from the side of the laptop
